good news , good news.
'HAPPY MATHS STUDENTS = LOUSY SCORES' reads the heading of a newspaper article today.
' the nations with the best scores have the least happy, least confident students.... The report, released yesterday, said a 'happiness factor' of US mathematics students to perform at the test levels of Singapore, China, South Korea, Japan, and other countries...' -AP
http://www.ksdk.com/news/education/education_article.aspx?storyid=105682 -USA Today
'What's perhaps most startling: Kids in Singapore, a math powerhouse, didn't regard themselves nearly as highly as those in the USA: 39% of U.S. students said they "usually do well" in math. Only 18% in Singapore said the same. But the Singapore kids knew much more math than the U.S. kids. In fact, the least confident Singapore students scored higher than the most confident in the USA.'
so for those of you who are reduced to tears by maths, deplore maths, detest maths, hate maths, don't fret!
you may be smarter than those who are married to maths.
yup, just an encouragement to those who have an extreme dislike for maths.
another interesting thingy i noticed just now when i went to YAHOO! accidentally, at a corner of the page, something caught my eye just when i was about to quit the page. ha. under most 'popular apparel searches ' Lacoste is ranked 8th, just behind Nike. those were the only 2 brand names up there. wahha, maybe i should become a fashion analyst next time, i've discovered my hidden talent. hahaha.
going to meet a new Sec 1 Christian now! i'm so excited!!
