i'm tired but thankful & happy.
spent my afternoon running around in and among my harvest field at the Esplanade. thank God for arranging for this maths program (through an ex-volunteer) which allowed us to meet all Sec 1 students. thank God for the familiar faces whom i've shared the gospel to previously before, thank God for their enthusiasm and participation.
thank God they were interested in me as much as i'm interested in them. thank God for allowing me to get ALL the contact numbers of the class i'd been allocated to. really thank God for this (unpredicted, unplanned) chance that the doors to the harvest field has been swung wide open. thank God that i'm recognisable among the students now, so it can facilitate sharing the gospel to them on streets. thank God oh thank God, he has brought about great things.
so i was sizing the crops up, had loads of fun crapping with them, helping them, although i corrected them, and showed my displeasure in them talking dirty & blurting vulgarities.
Just like typical Sec 1 students, seeing my irritation is their pleasure, so they persisted in being all rowdy, throwing profanities at each other. they won the war, it was 37 students to 1, but at least i made it clear to them its wrong. Seriously i'm surprised at what they know, who needs Sex education when they've already educated themselves. But not all were bad la, some girls were really decent. You know at the point of time i wished there was another girl personnel with me, i've got 5 students demanding my attention from both ends of the bus concurrently. i feel so sorry for this girl who said she was shouting my name so many times before i actually responded. I pray they'll be able to hear the gospel, and hearts be softened, convicted to the gospel.
but i'm gonna think of how to bring the gospel to them, thats another challenging task. There's this follow-up program coming up during September holidays, pray that many will come, but the school's students are very busy, laden with activities in school. pray that the gospel nevertheless will be shared to them.
another day tomorrow, pray that it'll turn out good also.
Today only me, another personnel, Bee Ngoh was around. Tomorrow 2 staffs will be down also.
ok, aside from that, i can see how much effort Singapore is pumping in to spruce up Singapore in preparation for the gargantuan IMF-World Bank meeting starting in weeks' time. From the paving of roads stretching from Changi Airport to the City, to ensuring that the areas that are supposed to be green is green, including a tiny patch of grass tucked away at a corner, to washing the durian spikes-like planes of the Esplanade. Singapore may not measure up with foreign countries in terms of stand-out architecture, like the Esplanade bridge is nothing compared to Sydney Harbour Bridge, or the Merlion looking splendidly obsene when we see the majestic Sphinx, but Singapore can be proud of its skyline. it feels that way, i can't explain it, i mean, you just see the essence of Singapore by that landscape.
don't believe? take a little trip around the Singapore town by foot, to see C. Quay & Raffles Place, the Esplanade, & the buildings that rise all the way to the top.
