music therapy

i've discovered the function of creating a playlist of songs that i wanna listen to off the web. Thanks to my very resourceful friends in camp, i'm now able to pick and choose from an extensive library of all kinds of songs (i believe they have every song out there), and listen to them while i'm working on the computer :)

And i must say, thanks to DeZhang, i'm typing this entry while listening to Christmas songs by Celtic Woman. Its very very good, for both the mind and the soul. These ladies have such angel-like airy-fairy voices that it'll do to our spirits a little fluffy effect. On the same therapeutic note, thanks to DeZhang again, i've cast aside initial reservations about High School Musical being a show used to bluff kids about how perfectly beautiful a place the world is, and i've actually grown to like it. Its a happy show, and in a very good way, it'll stir up a lifting effect on the spirits. And so i've added a couple of melodious duets from the Disney movie in my playlist. Thanks DeZhang :) I'm now a little off the ground on a silent night dreaming of a white Christmas, while having a renewed sense of confidence in a happily-ever-after.

I'm preparing for bible study tomorrow morning, while waiting for tennis on the tv.
sweet dreams.

the Lord has been gracious to me.

while i'm unable to go to church on Saturdays, i've been invited to attend staff mtgs on Mondays with the purpose that i can listen to the preaching of God's Word in a congregational setting. I'm thankful for that really.

Not too long ago i was praying, and i still am, that the Lord may allow me to get to know of new like minded Christian students who express their desire to reach out to their schoolmates with the truth. the old blood of the older Christian students are a fast fading batch, soon to be graduating no matter how much effort they've put in in their God-given ministry in the setting of their schools or classrooms. So if little is their effort, much will be their regret, and how irreversible time will seem to be for them. I know that kind of feeling man. So the new blood brings fresh hope in the garden of withering floras, where trees are struggling to bear fruit.

However Chris reminded me not to place too much hope in this new batch of students. Have we not seen students who are so eager but after a year or so fatigue sets in, their facial expressions change and they drop out disinterested? After all, we will not have discovered that the tree has been planted in a wrong garden until after a certain period of time signs can spotted and seen. Following that the tree can be uprooted to another garden so that it can be rendered effective to bear fruit.

i watched the Dark Knight on Monday night. I think its one of the better shows after a really long wait for good shows ever since that Oscars period. But i got quite lost during the show, i'm lousy in understanding these kind of movies which have inhuman characters in it :( thanks to huEy for clearing the many question marks i had after the movie.

more updates to come

sadly, times have changed. gone are the days when i find that christian students (new contacts made) are willing to meet up for bible study, or even meet up at all. Its been generally harder to call students up for a meeting with them without them suspecting that you're up to some kind of suspicious act that involves them being added to the pile of skeletons in your closet.

you know, being involved in this school ministry requires great heavy responsibility, but do not ever ever lose dependance on God, because after all it is God's ministry we are involved in. whatever happens, God will bring it to good as He works according to His own purposes.
finding like-minded Christian students to share the gospel to their schoolmates. these students very soon will graduate, so we need to find new Christian students to continue the good work in the schools. I'm thankful to God that He's kept the momentum going when i got to know of 2 boys who fall into the category of like-minded christians who is willing to be partners in reaching out to their schoolmates. I'll just keep praying and praying.
